This house is across the street from one of my rentals.
Becky, the owner, boasts the only three-car garage in the area and runs The Workingman’s Friend restaurant and bar, which is one block away. It was founded by her parents back in the 30s and still thrives today, serving mayors, congressmen and common laborers daily. Great stuff.
Becky — and many others in Haughville — decorate their yards with every passing holiday and I love it. Even those who don’t have much money manage to spice it up for the holdays.
I just got out of a one week stay in the hospital — emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage — and I find myself appreciating the small things even more than I normally do. So, I stay in the day, find the beauty/fun in each day, and count my blessings … life is good.
Onward and upward!
